Breaking News from Alfold Football Club…

Alfold Football Club are delighted to announce two new exciting appointments for the Club.

Following the news of Mark Wright joining as Head of Youth Development a couple of weeks ago, we are delighted to announce that Dave Cocoracchio has agreed to join Alfold FC as Director of Football. Dave will work closely with the Committee and First Team Management to ensure that a clear pathway exists into senior football from our expanding youth set-up. We can also announce that John Bellamy has been tempted out of retirement to join us as the new Club Chairman. John will oversee the Clubs future development and growth in-line with current plans. Together John and Dave bring a wealth of knowledge and experience of County football and Club administration.

Club Secretary Wayne Mouring quoted “Both men fit the bill perfectly, we as a Club knew it was time we needed new leadership at the top. It was time we became a more professionally run club, and after several interviews and many hours of telephone conversations, I knew we had the perfect candidates to take this club to the next level. The desire and passion was clear from both, and in John we have the perfect Chairman. His total commitment for everything to be spot on and correct is exactly what I and the club need, and as for Dave, well what can I say? He eats, drinks and sleeps football, and I really never thought we could get someone of his calibre at Alfold FC.  What this man doesn’t know about local football is not worth knowing. ”

As a Secretary, I couldn’t wish to work with two better people. They have reignited my enthusiasm to continue on this great Club journey and take Alfold FC to the next level. We know it won’t be easy but I know we will have fun trying.

With all the hard work Wrighty has put in recently with the new Youth development, this means the club has already grown to 6 teams for this coming season, and now having Dave and John working closely with the First Team Management, times could not be more exciting at Alfold FC.

Welcome to the Fold Gents..

Commenting on his new appointment Dave said, “After 2 years away from the game, the opportunity I have been given as the Director of Football at Alfold FC was just too good to turn down. Over the past few years the dedication and hard work put in by the committee and First Team Management is clear for all to see and the club has had material success both on and off the pitch. Jack and Matt as Managers have done an excellent job in getting the club into the SCFL Premier Division and the ground improvements have been so impressive. Now with Mark Wright as Head of Youth Development we have an impressive team of people and a business plan that will take the club to the next level. There is a lot of hard work to be done but I can’t wait to get started.”

John said “it was going to take something special to get me back on the County football scene, The proposition that Alfold put forward is exciting and sufficiently whetted my appetite for me to agree to joining for what should be an exciting phase in their long history”………………………………..
